Disappointing meal which was booked on a recommendation from a friend on a weekend away in Manchester. Ordered a medium rare steak which came medium well done. I did mention it to the waiter when asked if food was ok and was offered another one but didn't bother as my wife's wasn't impressive either. Quality of the meat was poor for what was supposed to be a nice restaurant. Found the ambiance of the place to be more fancy cocktail bar that happens to do a bit of food on the side. Not remotely impressed on quality of food for the price and whole place was a bit footballers wives.
We were seated at the back of the restaurant after waiting 30 minutes to be seated. The food was very nice and catered well for gluten free. However, our server took 20 minutes to take our drinks order and I had written a private note on my booking that a guest was gluten free which he should have known about. As the meal continued I had to ask him 3 times to bring over a bottle of wine which became a drag. Appears the restaurant cares more about their club tables which make them the most money than the other diners in the restaurant.
Have eaten before for lunch and service was good, would not return for dinner. Fab service. Really good service and food, went for my birthday with a couple of friends and would go back again.
Was really quiet but it was a Monday night. An excellent venue for bottomless brunch. Served by William who was very attentive and offered very helpful suggestions with the food.
Unfortunately, these were vastly disappointed. The menu seemes to take a 'posh' meal from a range of different cuisines from steak to sushi and do none of them well. The food was average at best and the 'steamed rice' with my salmon was disgusting and inedible - just a pile of very overcooked white mush that still somehow managed to also have a gritty texture. Will not be coming back and am saddened that my positive first impressions of this place were misplaced.
The food was mediocre at best. But the ambiance and staff are very nice. We came to visit on the above date. We waited a while for our order to be taken but was not a problem as was busy. We then waited 50 mins in between starters and mains and were rudely told it was because we were waiting for the burger to cook the other mains were sushi.
The burger arrived and then was cold in the middle. We highlighted this to the manager and he offered to do a new one. At this point my friend found what can only be described as a grey public like hair in the chips. We told them to remove all of the food.
Thomas apologised and offered us coctails as an apology. He went and got a menu that didn't actually have anything inside for us to order.
The cocktail then arrived after again another wait with a massive chip out of the glass. Massive dissapoitment all round considering it is meant to be a prestigious establishment within Manchester! Family of 3 1 starter was served burnt 1 main was served cold linguine Service was fine.
Miserable lady on front of house. I went to Neighbourhood for Brunch as I had been previously on two occasions and the food and service was excellent and I scored all 5's. However, this time was completely different. We were told off a very curt waiter that we could only order prosecco by the glass which given the 10 minute wait in-between drinks didn't really make it 'all you can drink'.
I asked why the bottle wasn't left as it had been on other occasions and was advised it was because there was only 5 of us and not 6. I highlighted that there was only 5 of us on the last visit but he didn't seem interested. Poor service. Had to ask for a refill everytime - food was cold and small portions. Honestly, the food was very mediocre. We heard good things from our friends and colleagues but on the day it just didn't meet our expectations.
We ordered the soft shell crab sushi rolls, seared salmon rolls, Mac and cheese with lobster, The Neighbourhood burger and the aubergine starter plate.
The sushi was good but not mind blowing. I would definitely not want to pay full price for the food. The music was also very loud, granted we ate at pm on a Friday night but surely that doesn't warrant the DJ to periodically increase and decrease the volume. Rude front of house staff. Long periods without drinks. Short staffed in the kitchen leading to long wait for food. Music too loud. Food was disappointing as sushi was dry. Tacos to share were minute. Food was exquisite!
