It is situated 25km away from sub-district headquarter Maheshwar and 60km away from district headquarter Khargone. Sanskrit is the language spoken by most of the people in the village. Hosahalli, along with Mattur, is known for its usage of Sanskrit as a primary language and for its efforts to support Gamaka art, which is a unique form of singing and storytelling in Karnataka along with Sangeetha Carnatic music. It lies on the banks of the Tunga River in Karnataka state, southern India.

Hey there! The residents of Mattur comprise an ancient Brahmin community that had migrated from Kerala about years ago. Built as a square, with a temple at the centre, Mattur has a village Paathshala traditional school.
The students are put under a rigorous training of their Sanskrit masters and learn Vedas from the age of Mattur is an agrarian village that cultivates paddy and areca nuts. Everyone in the village you come across speaks in Sanskrit like a pro, and even the local wall graffiti is written in the ancient Indian language. Mattur being a small village has no such tourist sites, except a shrine of Rama, a mini temple of Lord Shiva and his family, Someshwara temple and Lakshmikeshava temple.
Mattur and Hosahalli have tried hard to support the ancient Gamaka art, which is a special form of singing and storytelling in Karnataka. Just like Mattur, the residents of Hosahalli live, eat and breathe Sanskrit.
